![]() Sunday, 8th Feb 2009 09:07 John Toshack admits that his pre-season prediction has been proven wrong Toshack pinpointed Swansea City's lack of experience at this level as their potential downfall as Roberto led his side into a first second tier season in 24 years. But with the Swans currently in 7th place with a game in hand on the two sides above them they have every chance of pushing on to become part of the end of season lottery that is the play offs for the Premiership. And Wales manager Toshack - who signed a new contract this week - admits that he got it wrong with his prediction and believes that there could be a Swansea v Cardiff play off final on bank holiday weekend in May. Toshack said “They’ve both been terrific. I think Cardiff are very resolute and after seeing them a few times I think Ninian Park has become one of the most difficult grounds to go to in the Championship, if not the most difficult. “They’re an experienced side now and the people there have been in charge for four years and they really do look solid. “On the other hand, what Swansea are doing is incredible. I have to say when the season started I thought if Roberto could keep them out of the bottom six he would have done a terrific job because they didn’t have any players with a Championship season behind them. “But it is incredible what they are doing and I think Roberto is manager of the year, never mind manager of the month. “I can see Cardiff pushing the top two places because they look solid in the top six now, and hopefully Swansea can push on too. “It could be a final with Cardiff and Swansea at Wembley Stadium – it looks very much on the cards, it really does. Imagine that – in our wildest dreams we couldn’t have thought that! “Swansea really have surpassed anything that I thought they could have done, but it’s still a very difficult time of the season to go. Darren Pratley and Ferrie Bodde are big, big misses for them. I just hope it doesn’t take away what they have achieved up to now.” Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
