![]() Monday, 8th Feb 2010 07:46 Darren Ferguson appears to be using Swansea as a role model after seeing his side beaten by them on Saturday Swansea City were clear and comfortable victors over Preston on Saturday leaving Ferguson to just admire the way that we go about playing football. Goals from David Cotterill and Ashley Williams made the win comfortable but it could have been more convincing as the Swans hardly gave their visitors a sniff of the ball let alone a goal. And speaking after the game, Ferguson was clear in his praise of the home team when he said "This is a very difficult place to come because Swansea are a very, very good footballing team. "We didn't keep the ball well enough — we kept giving it back to Swansea and things got even more difficult for us once they got their goal. "We are a work in progress and things will take time. I want my teams to play a certain way and maybe the way Swansea play, the way they pass the ball, is something we should aspire to.
"We expected a difficult game against them and we got it. From the start they were on the front foot and we couldn't get out because we didn't keep the ball well enough. "We would like to play like they do, but these things take time. "They have a chance "They are a good team, but there are many teams in the division who will think they can get there. "Swansea played well against us, but that is partly because we didn't keep the ball and that put them on the front foot. We will have to wait and see whether they get to the play-offs or not. "I cannot question the lads' commitment, but Swansea have the belief and confidence to play the way they play and we are a bit short on that at the moment "The effort was there but we took one touch too many and we didn't know what we were going to do when we got the ball."
