Green Out? Del Piero in? Saturday, 8th Feb 2014 11:11 Paul Green has joined Ipswich on an emergency loan, however on the incoming front the name Allessandro Del Piero seems to be on everyone's lips at the moment. Republic of Ireland international Green has been surplus to requirements for much of the season, he was linked with a deadline day move to Portman Road but obviously given the chaos that raged at Elland Road on that fateful Friday evening the move stalled. Mick McCarthy has got his man, given the amount of 30-something central midfield journeymen Neil Warnock left us with it seems unlikely we will see the flame-haired former Derby and Doncaster man in a Leeds shirt ever again as he is out of contract in the summer. You cannot fault Green's efforts at Leeds but he was hardly a contender for first-name on the team-sheet, nevertheless we wish him well at his new temporary home. Meanwhile on the incoming front and maybe linked with our pending-Italian ownership, Allesandro Del Piero is being linked with a shock-switch to ER. Now a sprightly 39-year-old plying his trade in Australia, rumours are growing that he will enjoy a final hurrah in West Yorkshire and possibly take-up a coaching-role, news I am sure that will delight Brian McDermott considering how his position has been undermined this past fortnight!
