Now Lincoln clash is 'massive' for Pompey
Sunday, 24th Jan 2021 14:35 by pompey-fans.com staff

Havey White described Tuesday' visit of Lincoln to Fratton as 'maasive' after Pompey's recent unbeaten League One run was blown to pieces by leaders Hull City.

The Tigers put four past Craig MacGillivray to end a run of clean sheets and victories that had left Pompey close on the heels of the top two.

They must aim to bounce back quickly when second-placed Lincoln visit in midweek and White - a second half sub against Hull - said that's where the Blues' focus was now after 90 minutes to forget.

He told the Pompey website: 'It’s very disappointing, but there are a lot of games coming up and hopefully we can bounce back on Tuesday night. We want to show that this result was simply a slap in the face for us and that we’re ready to go again.

'It wasn’t our day. We could have created more chances and they looked more dangerous in the way they took their opportunities. The manager told me to show some energy, get on the ball and keep it moving to try to get us back in the game. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

'Everyone knows that we have to look ourselves in the mirror and dust ourselves down. We’re all grown men and know not to get too down after a loss. It’s another massive game against Lincoln here at Fratton Park, so hopefully we can collect all three points.'

New recruits Charlie Daniels and George Byers come into contention as Pompey bid to complete a double over the Imps.
