FAI investigates alleged racist abuse of Idah -

The IRA terrorists were always going to complain, being drawn against the number 1 country for counter terrorism. Indeed, Idah is not aware of any abuse at all; it is just a propaganda campaign by the Irish. The Irish players behaviour was disgraceful throughout. Let's hope they are thrown out of the competition.

I'm just glad that Adam did his job and came through this uninjured and with another international goal to his credit.

I would be interested to hear your reasoning for the behaviour of Irelands players.

Not sure why the FAI have to name a player when they are investigating and neither the player or officials reported anything.

Racism breeds racism.
So saddened that Adam Idah was subjected to this but the Irish contributed massively to the toxic atmosphere.
We are living in such a sad divided world.
It saddens me immensely.

The IRA have a long history of weapon smuggling and arms purchases from the IRGC in Iran and Gadhafi in Libya. The Irish government as well as the football associations would have organised the protests.
You will know that James McClean doesn't join his other Wrexham players in wearing a poppy for Remembrance Day. His family would be kneecapped if he did. The IRA are still very active in all aspects of Irish life.

I am fully aware my brother lives on the Shankill in Belfast.

I’m unaware of the FAI arranging protests, do you have a link to this ?

Manager Heimir Hallgrímsson sparked a major diplomatic row during a squad announcement when he voiced the locker room's deep reluctance. He told reporters, "We're not playing with genocide, we're playing against genocide." from Yahoo Sports

My feelings: So, what about the genocide AND heinous crimes committed by Hamas against the 1,200+ Israelis AND the abduction of 251 hostages, some of whom were American citizens, in Hamas' coordinated attack against Israel AND on Israeli soil on Oct 7, 2023?

The Republic of Ireland football federation stated that the players wore black armbands in recognition of "all lives lost in the conflict" in Gaza during their UEFA Nations League match against Israel.

Faced with escalating tensions, the Irish players held an intense four-hour team meeting before traveling to Hungary. from Instagram & Kuwaittimes
• The Majority Vote: The squad voted by a significant majority to go ahead with the match but agreed to execute the on-pitch silent protests (such as skipping the handshakes and wearing the armbands).
• Gavin Bazunu's Stance: Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu opted out entirely. He chose to boycott the match and the upcoming return fixture, stating his personal conviction that "the killing of innocent people is wrong. from Yahoo Sports

Again, my feelings: So, what about the genocide AND heinous crimes committed by Hamas against the 1,200+ Israelis AND the abduction of 251 hostages, some of whom were American citizens, in Hamas' coordinated attack against Israel AND on Israeli soil on Oct 7, 2023?

The Gaza Strip (Hamas Control): Hamas held de facto administrative and military control over the Gaza Strip. After winning the Palestinian legislative elections in 2006, a brief civil conflict with the rival Fatah faction ended in 2007 with Hamas forcibly seizing full control of the Gaza enclave. from Wikipedia

People ignore the number of people who have been killed by Hamas in Gaza, the absence of women's or gay rights in Palestine and the PAs pay to slay policy in which it spends £130 Million a year paying people to kill Israeli's.

All of this can be referenced by ' reliable sources ' but it does not seem to matter and then the historical difficult relationship between Catholicism and Judaism adds to the mix.

Gaza and Lebanon were known to be modern kind and liberal places in the 1950-1960 s I have read. Then Zionist arrived and " radicalised" not only their own people but local Muslims and Christians too. The balance was altered and chaos ensued and has continued ever since. The Isreals have never stopped stealing land by force and the Palestinians have never stopped resisting which many call self defence.

Palestine and Lebanon were very livable places until Hebrew speakers arrived with American accents and created refugees and migrants from Palestine to Lebanon. There are some hot heads on this thread for sure

Posters on this site tell me I am a wall flower when I complain about player subjected to animal chants. Most do not understand that racism and ethic slurs ars a concept that applies to all not just certain ethnic groups.

I think sensible people would say the whole situation is an abhorrent mess and that far too many people are getting killed/murdered by both sides. The question always has been what can we do to stop it?

A question nibody has ever been able to answer.

Religion has a lot to answer for.

But still there are nigh on 2M practising Muslims in Israel. The majority are Arabs (a cultural identity) Also, Arab citizens have had Israeli citizenship and political rights. Adult citizens can vote, form political parties, stand for the Knesset, use the courts, attend Israeli universities and work throughout the economy. Israel’s electoral law gives every Israeli citizen aged 18 or over the right to vote.

I will admit there are disproportionate amounts of Arabs not in govt, but they too have thriving businesses and access to everything the Israeli Jews do. Business support especially.

Isreal should not be UEFA at all. They should be forced to play with their neighbours like Jordan. Perhaps then they will learn the art of compromise..

Arabs make up 20% of the Knesset. I wonder if the righteous people of Eire have 20% Protestants in their government???

You are not interested because you are comfortable with the narrative you have. . It is a position you are comfortable with and you think you can defend.

Isreal and Iran are theocracies and if you are not of that faith you not be treated equally in this countries . I would not back the narrative's of either of them. Both breed fanatics and unreasonable behaviour such as the violent militants " settlers" who kill and beat up locals and doing "gods work" .

You have "picked a side" which for me is not necessary. Yog may prefer this side based on a closer religious outlook perhaps.

Isrealis do not get a free pass on my book.
