Schooling is paid for. The NHS is paid for. Everything is paid for. Nothing is truly free. We all pay for it but some people pay more than others which generally is fine if you can afford it but more and more people are being dragged into the bracket where they can’t afford it despite working full time 50 hours a week when others could work but choose not to, sit on their arse all week, have all the free time in the world and get everything handed to them. It creates an inherent unfairness and people are getting squeezed more and more to pay for it all. |

Arguably it’s the socialist policies that is the millstone around our neck. The welfare state should be a safety net, not a lifestyle choice. When the government is paying out more in welfare than it takes in income tax massive alarm bells should be ringing. |

Yeah course he probably wouldn’t have played much here, although the article did say on here the other day we are in the market for right sided midfielders so it might go down as a rare miss.
Either way nice to see a local boy doing well especially in a foreign league. |

That’s the strange thing though for me. Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal should be the ones shouting from the rooftops they are the ones who have missed out on so many trophies and champions league places etc, but there’s almost been a radio silence. I’m sure there’s a lot going on behind the scenes but if I was the owner of one of those clubs and i was squeaky clean playing by the rules I’d be incandescent with rage. |

Personally speaking I would be absolutely amazed if Man City are the only club circumventing the rules like this. There’s a lot of talk that many premier league clubs would refuse to vote for expulsion from the premier league for Man City. Could they be worried that they will also be found out some time in the future? |

Yep. His legal name is Jones. That is what appears on all official documents, birth certificate, registration etc. Not sure why he’s pretending it isn’t. Jones is surely Welsh enough. |

He went by the name ‘Ron’ during his broadcasting career and was always known as Ron by his friends and family for many many years. And Jones is his legal name whether he likes it or not. It really comes to something when the name Jones isn’t Welsh enough for him.
People often criticise Yaxley Lennon for using a pseudonym that sounds more British and working class, fake names should be called out across the board if that’s the case. |

We had very good sides under both potter and cooper but there wasn’t a lot of depth outside the first XI.
We seem to have a much stronger squad this year, we can make five subs and it has often strengthened us, not weakened us like in previous years but as others have said it’s very early days. |

We were also helped by the fact we still had an extraordinary manufacturing/production output in those days and could replace damaged planes/equipment at over three times the speed of the Germans. I’ve often said if war came to us again these days we’d be a sitting duck since we import nearly everything we desperately need and aren’t self sufficient in anything. A service based economy is never winning any wars. |

It went the other way too. Without the British and her empires support the US would have struggled against Japan. The campaigns in Burma and places like that tied up hundreds of thousands of Japanese soldiers. Also without the British the Americans wouldn’t have had vital technology like radar, and the science that led to the Manhattan Project basically started in Birmingham University (ironically by a German and an Austrian).
Without this vital support the war would have gone on for several more years and many more millions would have died. |

Considering the airbase is entirely US run presumably its security falls within the remit of US forces. If they feel they cannot protect an asset buried deep in the rural English countryside to the point where they have to evacuate all hardware then there must be a serious threat in the background. |
