Charlie Austin on QPR a few days ago on 19:10 - Jul 29 by SheffieldHoop
Thanks Dave. So it was Ollie's fault for blabbing about it to the Media, or Allerdyce being a cnt about it? I dunno if that story really adds up in my mind. Surely if Les wanted to go to QPR at that stage of his career, he would & could have?
was a bit of both, also think Les was well past it by then and would have been a bit of a mistake given we already had Furlong, thorpe and Gallen

Wasn't it the same year we ended up as "Queens Park Strangers" with a very young Leon Clarke up front? I thought Thorpe had gone by then tbh, replaced by Nygaard? - And didn't we end up getting Dean Sturridge instead? Some signing that turned out to be.
1 season later we had the Waddock/Czerkas/Techkanoute shitshow. Maybe Les would've been a better DOF if he'd been around the club for that!!

Watching that clip, as a QPR supporter, how can you not love the guy? His scoring record speaks for itself, his positive impact on the team in both sets of circumstances, cannot be underestimated. Playing most of our playoff promotion season with a dodgy shoulder, and as was mentioned above, getting 18 goals in the Prem with a relegated side, what exactly is in question?
One of the best pure strikers to ever put on the hoops. Even second time round, when his pace such as it was, was less, his instinct never left him. He had his lows like any other, but never really questioned his commitment.
Q: Do you support QPR? CA: Do I support them? It’s more than that.
Says it all really. Rs through and through as far as I’m concerned.

We almost signed him around that time from Bolton but Holloway told the press he was signing so Allardyce pulled the plug on the deal and he ended up going to Reading a few months later instead
I'm rather glad he didn't come back to be honest. When he turned up at Lofus Road in a Reading shirt, he looked likee someones Dad was filling in. That would have been a difficult watch every week.

If we had Charlie (first time round) in our side now, there would be no debates about Messrs Kelman, Kolli, Celar, or Frey. They would be lucky to be allowed in the same dressing room as him!

Chaz MKI was incredible. Chaz MKII was awful. Should have left after the loan spell. I was at the cup game when he sat in Ellerslie Road stand, strange behaviour.
