Unfortunate fixture for us tonight in that we will most probably lose our top spot without being able to do anything about it until we play Altrincham on 19th December. We will have 3 games in hand over Carlisle after tonight so its still very much in our own hands - it is nice to see us top of the league though!

Josh Kelly for Woking looks a really good player. Striker on loan from Wimbledon. Really caused Carlisle problems and thought he played well against us.
And their defence......impressive defensive qualities!

I think the problems with the FA Trophy schedule is later in the competition. 3 rounds on National League fixture dates. 31st Jan we play Southend a, 28th Feb we play Aldershot a and 28th March we play Sutton a. Thats 3 long away trips rescheduled for Tuesday/Wednesday nights and potentially 3 tough FA Trophy fixtures (depending on the draw).
I think you're right
What an absolute pain that would be, as we try to conserve our energies for the only objective that matters
Of course, we could win both the FA Trophy and top the league. JM referred to having a squad capable of taking on both. Let's see how that works out, now we're starting to incur injuries, and with the winter barely upon us

The only other way a long run in the competition wouldn't affect us is if the other teams around us all progress to at least the qtrs/semis too - so we'd all be in the same boat - although we've already got 2 or 3 extra games to fit in February/March. Also another thing is the Trophy final is after the play off final this season (not before it like last season). Not so bad if we did finish champions and then had bonus game at Wembley a few weeks later - not sure how popular 2 trips to Wembley would be on consecutive weekends? Solihull had it a couple of seasons ago and lost them both.

This is the reality
There's people who post, or simply vote on here who're subject to what one might call "magical thinking". Sorting the pitch out is "heroic" ffs
What's truly worth thinking about is the absolute hard-headedness involved in both escaping this league and taking Dale into the future, as our owners are focussed upon
I'm 100% with them. No doubt a Trophy win would be welcome (i wasn't thinking anything other than that when we played Spennymoor last season) but this time round, let's just get the pitch sorted and get the all-important league games on

The rest is bollocks

Good result for us last night.
Proof that this league is still capable of throwing up the odd strange result. The total meltdown amongst some of Carlisle’s fanbase wont help them, with players who have appeared regularly now being deemed not good enough.
Such an overreaction will only work in favour of other teams in the title race. So that’s another positive from Woking’s win.

No problem
I agree with every word. We underestimate the pressure on those teams trying to play catchup with us. Let's keep it that way

I must admit, when Carlisle went 1 up, I thought they would win the game, so for Woking to win 3-1 was a bonus that I did not expect.
Jaaskelainen made an unbelievable save for Woking when it was 1-0, deflected shot and he somehow diverted it over the bar with his left hand. Worth watching the highlights for that - and Woking's 1st goal! 😲
