You are not very good with actual facts are you.
| Eom on 09:56 - Dec 7 with 1038 views | RichardO | He got the praise from the fans in the ground he deserved for his performance from the moment he stepped off the pitch in front of the East stand when substituted until he reached the dugout. He seems to be playing for place in the team and has adapted well to what is being asked of him, he now has more Championship experience than some of our younger players and that is telling in getting us further up the pitch quicker, starting to turn defenders around and pushing them deeper there is a good partnership with Tymon which needs a little more fine tuning with the help of forwards around him , midfield support and a better defensive mindset. Team game and the right partnerships all over the pitch is vital, Sheehan struggled to find that stable team set up that he did last season lots of new inexperienced players were all vying for places have some of those players now had time to develop. For me the partnership on the right between Ronald and Key just hasn't worked and sometimes injuries a or sicknesses are a godsend for a manager trying to find the right team selection. | | | |

I think playing further up, with a bigger gap between him and Tymon helped. They still linked well, but there was more clarity in both roles and both had a great game.

That "playing further up" thing has been a bugbear of mine for a while. Our wingers are often to be found 15-20 yards deeper than they should be. They're having to battle just to get to the position that they ideally would have started from. If Matos can get that bit right then that'll be a big win for him.

Yes, I totally agree. Eom and Ronald were level with Vipotnik a lot of the time yesterday. We haven’t seen that for a long time. I don’t think it’s coincidence that Eom had a great game when he wasn’t playing in congested areas, receiving balls from Vigaroux and the centre backs on half way whilst doubled up on. He had more opportunity to isolate the fullback and thrived. Having wide players higher up should suit Vipotnik too.

Some good overlapping between him and Galbraith as well.

When Casey came on Ronald seemed to dlot into right back for a while releasing Galbraith into midfield. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Eom on 12:20 - Dec 7 with 797 views | RichardO | Had been an advocate of fullbacks giving wingers space it allows the wingers room to come short drag the fullback forward to create space in behind them we have seen forwards do this so many times then peel off for the quick ball in behind the defensive but our forward passes are in reaction to those peeling run rather than anticipating them but the time we have seen the runs and delivered the ball our forwards have got themselves offside through no fault of their own. | | | |

Twice in the first half, Eom committed defenders in the box and then slipped Tymon in for a cut back. Really encouraging to see. Tymon still got forward a lot, but he knew when and when not to do it. I understand people saying ‘it’s only one game’ and ‘it’s only Oxford’ but I thought we were excellent for sustained periods yesterday.

Couldnt agree more, if this is what we can expect from Matos then i think we are all going to be a lot happier. All this without his preferred staff too. I’ve given Eom some proper criticism but he was magnificent yesterday. Stamenic looked good and in general I thought we were excellent on times too. Can’t wait to see how we look in a month’s time.

It might really be a new dawn and we would find it harder to bitch amongst ourselves We can only comment contemporarily and last Saturday was much better We might fold tomorrow then get thrashed in the three following games or we d be wondering why we were so worried its football, its sport . It sucks and it gives joy...so to speak

| Eom on 09:48 - Dec 7 by Dr_Winston | That's not even a little bit true though is it? Just off the top of my head I can come up with goals against Oxford and Preston that were from the edge of/outside the box, and a few others that have gone close. [Post edited 7 Dec 9:52]

Just remembered that his first goal from us was from outside the box too. Against Middlesbrough. In fact, he may have the best shot from distance of anyone at the club bar Vipotnik.

Possibly Galbraith? | | | |

Certainly a contender. More power than Eom. Maybe not as much accuracy. Matos should encourage them both to shoot more often so we can tell for sure.

He has ability no doubt but without basic strength it’s negated This is a physical league and he can legally get shoved off the ball It’s a shame but this is a tough league physically And no it doesn’t mean hoofball

He showed more strength last night ,notably winning a ball in the second half on the opposite side of the pitch for him , he is improving this side of his game

Idah was more central at the time but when the ball is going down one side the opposite winger could be racing into the box on the opposite side. Sinclair was great at that, hence the 20+ goals in a season. Doubles the options in the box

It was galbraith who put a ball in from the right that ronald and idah both just missed, if vip had been on the pitch he would have buried it. The ball from eom you are on about both idah and ronald were nowhere near it.
