An interesting conundrum for Miliband, what does he do as the Falkland Isles have come into an ocean of oil "The Sea Lion field that the Falklands is preparing to exploit is thought to contain up to 1.7bn barrels of oil – larger than anything remaining in UK waters" To allow drilling would make a mockery of what he's done so far to see thousands of jobs lost and the continuing loss of confidence that this shite show of a government.
I wouldn't worry about it. Starmer is probably already in negotiations to pay Argentina £2bn a year to take the Falklands off our hands.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Not an expert on the sort of logistics needed but how is a tiny archipelago with a population of only around 2000 people of working age thousands of miles in the arse end of nowhere going to support a massive drilling operation of this nature?

I would say the same way as the rigs off Scotland do. Plus a very long pipeline

Oil companies will bid for operation & pay for the privilege to operate. They will pay a percentage of the price per barrel of oil produced . Pipelines are not essential in this day and age. Even in the North Sea deep water operations use mobile drilling rigs & floating production & storage operations vessels (FPSO) to extract crude oil & gas
