The season 25-26 squad thread 10:22 - Apr 13 with 19250 views | ngbqpr | *July 8th updated...* As far as we're allowed to know, / as at present advised the following are contracted for next season. I have included dev squad players who had first team minutes last season; Harvey Vale; also added Esquerdinha in unless we sign another LB, and Richards back in after his appearance vs Stevenage; + Santos as the option to buy wasn't taken up. GKs Nardi / Walsh / Salamon CBs JCS / Morrison / Cook / Mbungue FBs Dunne / Adamson / Santos / Larkeche / Esquerdinha Midfield* Chair / Dembele / Field / Madsen / Varane / Vale / Smyth / Morgan / Bennie / Sutton / Poku / Richards / Dixon Bonner (* obvs in a 433 some of these play as wide forwards, but I reckoned it was easier to bunch them in here, and keep 'strikers' to those playing centrally up top and charged with leading our goals for column). Strikers Celar / Kolli / Lloyd / Kelman / Frey [Post edited 10 Jul 8:29]

More chance of them signing Dunne in the summer if they are NOT promoted I think.

The season 25-26 squad thread on 13:32 - Apr 15 by aston_hoop | Big Ange will be sacked soon enough and I imagine whoever takes over at Spurs in the summer will want a proper look at him. Imagine its of those ones ones where if he goes and spends a season somewhere, next step will be the Eredivise or Bundesliga. But I think he'll be in their squad. Got his first South Korea cap a few weeks ago and they are not short. Wouldn't surprise me if thats a market we are shopping in this summer though, we were heavily linked with a Korean midfielder last summer before Varane joined |
"Got his first South Korea cap a few weeks ago and they are not short." Perhaps we could sign some of his taller buddies coz we definitely are short!

Having those 4 competing for the 3 ACM places is no problem and pretty much any combination should be OK (though I can remember quite a few away games this season when our 3 ACM's were chocolate teapot). Potentially, you can add Madsen to that list also. What would be great would be if Morgan could develop into our box to box ball playing CM, like Rowly in his prime. Oh, and what about Vale ? I believe he is another midfield ball player. Simon Barker. Another one of him would be good as well. [Post edited 16 Apr 21:53]

It'll be interesting to see where Vale ends up playing for us. He's played mainly as an attacking CM and LM but has filled in at every other position except CB and RB. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Is Mart in inverted commas, currently then ??? The one person we needed to be here, won't be. Still so peed off about this. This club is so amateurish.... [Post edited 21 May 8:08]

The season 25-26 squad thread on 15:01 - Jul 8 with 1938 views | Jevlar | Thought I'd resurrect this. Seeing as we've now got some additions in defence as well as the exciting of Poku.Where else do people think we're lacking. For me most pressing are: LB - Maybe they'll see how Larkeche gets on. Centre Mid - If Varane goes we feel light here and would be great to have a centre mid that would like to start and bring the ball forward. It seems we love CDMs and Midget 10s but nothing in the middle... Striker - I reckon (based on nothing) Lloyd might be loaned out. That leaves Celar, Frey, Kolli, Kelman. That mythical 20 a season striker - will be out of reach financially so just one that scores 12 would be good. Anyway what do others think?

I'm not convinced that we'll be signing anybody else, unless there is a deal too good to ignore. LB will be Larkeche or Esquerdinha. Larkeche has just come back from a decent loan at Dundee, so should be given a chance. I don't think many fans are convinced about him defensively. DCM - Field and Varane should be shoe-ins. Is there any real back up or do we need to move someone from their ideal position. ST - I agree Lloyd should get a loan. I'd settle for 2 strikers getting 12 each. The next move should see players leaving. Permanently or on loan. Fox, Colback probably gone already, although no announcement to date. Santos and EDB likely to move on.

Yes my feeling on any more 'ins' is dependent on: 1. Kelman leaving (but WBA are signing another striker so not them) 2. Eze moving on (but looking like all interested clubs are going for £50m 23 year olds instead) 3. Deciding through pre-season that Larkeche and Esquerdinha are not up to it. 4. Last minute opportunistic loan (from Newcastle probs). I too would be more comfortable with another proper midfielder. But that might be a luxury / unaffordable when we have Vale, Madsen, Morgan, (and I've always thought Chair could do a good job) who could play there. I was particularly interested that Vale seemed to play in that position in the first friendly which is a way of getting him into the team with Poku's arrival. I can't see us getting a striker unless two of Kelman, Frey, Celar, Kolli, Lloyd leave. [Post edited 8 Jul 16:16]

The season 25-26 squad thread on 15:57 - Jul 8 with 1732 views | dmm | In CM we have Morgan too but we need another body in there at least. If it's only one player, I'd prefer a box to box no 8 than another CDM. Given Lloyd is still recovering from his surgery and won't be ready to play until early in the season, I can't see him being loaned out.
The season 25-26 squad thread on 16:00 - Jul 8 with 1719 views | hateley_legend | Much as I'd like to see a new face up front, it does seem unlikely. If (if) we go with one up front, then for a club with our budget our pool will be 1.Celar 2.Kelman 3.Frey. We paid (for us) big bucks for Celar, so no-one's going to write that signing off yet (nor should we). If Kelman goes, on the other hand, then I'd have thought a replacement is an essential.
The season 25-26 squad thread on 16:16 - Jul 8 with 1659 views | Jevlar | I like that we've done our business early and agree with the views. We're going to need an out before we have anyone else coming in. Interesting that the squad page on the club website hasn't been updated yet, which makes me think we will be seeing some more departures (EDB, Santos) and confirmation that neither Fox nor Colback are coming back as well.

Personally if Kelman goes i think thats a bad call, even if the offer is £3 million. £5 million and would be questioning one way or other. But if we let him go, it gives out a poor message to others that are loaned our for experience. And I would rather know for half a season if he is up to it or not. We could still get £2 million, am sure and for the small hit, for me we have to give him a chance. What if he tears it up in the Championship for someone else. For me that is a possibility not definite but would we be sick. Kolli and Lloyd both seem very injury prone for young players. I think Kolli could play at this level. Lloyd is a sub at best in the Championship from what I have seen so far. Both for me, I would loan out for this half of the season to league one but I cant see either going, because of their own injury problems. And for me, there is a little too much hype around Kolli. Does a lot of media around his playing success before this has actually happened. The jury is out at the moment for me. Definitely has qualities but nothing has been proven as yet. For me, I would not start the show until then. Possibly family influences again, I feel. Others won't agree though, I suspect. All the Willock boys seem to have careers on the downturn. Think reasons could be along similar lines. Appreciate they grown men but some families are overbearing in these circumstances. Hearsay though, I know.

The season 25-26 squad thread on 17:13 - Jul 8 with 1493 views | DavieQPR | When you look at last season scorers list we are not as bad as we think.League only. No one scored 20 goals and of the top four Piroe and Brownhill have gone with Saintz and Sargeant likely. That leaves Conway and Windass as next highest on 13 goals including penalties. If we can keep Frey fit he will be up there.
The season 25-26 squad thread on 17:49 - Jul 8 with 1405 views | nomar | Wycombe are apparently asking £12m for 18 goal man Richard Kone. Kelman outscored him. Mediocre Championship strikers go for big bucks. Why on earth would we sell Kelman for £3M? Seriously, they shouldn’t even be picking up the phone for offers that low. That’s a giveaway at that price. I agree we should keep him and see if he will sign an extension, but if we sell then no way should we be realistically looking at £3M for him. Not based on what the current striker market is!
The season 25-26 squad thread on 18:09 - Jul 8 with 1344 views | stainrods_elbow | Right now, I see us as potentially producing some watchable approach play from midfield, but I just don't foresee that we're going to score anything like enough goals with our current crop of misfiring/injured/unproven strikers. Two more competent/cover strikers are a minmum adition to the squad for me. If we fail to manage that again, mid-table is as high as my optimism reaches.

Not obvious but surely Tuck is on the fringe, especially as a DCM. Said it before at the cup final him and Morgan were the stand outs. Not seen him in any training piccies or videos though.

I think Tuck’s in the 10th picture before the Spain trip with Chair but could be wrong. https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/2025/july/08/training-gallery/ Hopefully means he should feature soon, was also impressed with him in the DS final
