Sardinia is brilliant, we've been a few times.

On the south coast, Su Gunventeddu is great: A delightful sandy cove with the ruins of Roman Nora at one end.

Near Oliena and the centre of the island, Orgosolo is really worth a visit. Lots of the buildings are covered in huge, colourful murals.

Yeah, cheers mate, we’re in the north 😂

We did this whilst we were there, about an hour or so south of Orlando but well worth it, no crowds, small boat just for the 4 of us and a very knowledgeable captain, couldn’t recommend it enough.

Just paid for the family trip to Kos in August. Third year in a row there but a different resort this time, just to try somewhere else, see what else is around.

"Do have a nice rest" my work colleagues say to me before I go. "You don't have kids, do you?!" I manically laugh in reply.

Son and daughter in law travelling round Europe for best part of three months so we are going to drop in and out visiting the Alps, Tuscany and Corsica whilst strategically avoiding clashes with home games. At least that’s the plan.

Would love to go there.

Is it Scandi level of expensive?

Yeah, certainly scandi level prices. Not overly cheap but an absolutely stunning place and the Faroese people are lovely

You may well have done it already, but I wholeheartedly recommend a day trip to Symi, very beautiful. Turn off data roaming on the boat however otherwise you'll enter Turkiye telecom territory!

Had a day in Symi last year. What a beautiful place. Definitely worth the slight effort 😉

Can that be defined as "nice".....

Ah right, well Stintino Cove in the far North West of the island is beautiful but gets very busy.

Argentiera Cove - named after now abandoned silver mines - is quieter and quite interesting. It's also closer to all the facilities of Alghero.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

My wife's family are gathering for 10 days in a house outside Valencia at the end of the month, then three weeks in Kerry in September. With a bit of luck I'll miss a couple of home games. Got an excursion to Verdun and the Maginot Line teed up for October, I love a bit of French History.

Mate, tbf the port area of Alcudia is amazing. The beach is like something out of a movie set. My hotel was a 5-10 minute bus ride to the south. Theres a great curry house around the corner if thats your thing. Lots of lovely restaurants along the beach.
Apart from overcrowding, I had no problems with the area. It was just my hotel sucked. You will have a great time I'm sure.

Thanks Cheesy that is good to hear!!

Thanks mate, my son has a sort of irrational fear of Alligators, I say irrational I'd shit myself if one come near me but not a chance he'll be going anywhere near a swamp, he shits himself at London zoo

All comes from me buying him a tick tock Alligator toy from Peter Pan which would go tick tock when you pushed his belly like in the movie. Anyway it broke and would just go off randomly in the night so he was terrified that the gator was coming to get him.I don't think me finding that funny and hiding it around the house helped so he heard that going off all day.

Just back from Lisbon where my brother got married. Up there with my favourite cities in Europe - pretty, cultural, great weather, but also a really chilled and fun vibe. Lots of al-fresco drinking and dining, vinho verde and sardines.

Another vote for Crete here though - lovely island. My in-laws have a place in a small fishing town on the North coast an hour outside of Heraklion that I've been lucky enough to visit a few times. I used to stick my nose up and the idea of visiting the same place repeatedly, preferring to go and explore, but there's something to be said about holidaying somewhere familiar. Can switch off immediately, none of the usual delay, working out a new area and figuring out the right beaches/bars/restos.

Getting dangerously close to St Cloud there and that is a place to be avoided at all costs. Before fancy GPS and satalite help I arrived to a gas station to fill up and was caught up in a shootout between police and scum which literally scared us all to death .I put the pump away and drove off in the other direction after putting a few dollars in .
Orlando is gorgeous Dave B you will love it just a bit on the hot side dont forget the sunscreen and as important lip balm with sun protection they will burn off you otherwise

I’m pretty sure St Cloud was where we stopped for a McD on the way back, I’d never seen a no soliciting sign on a McD door before plus the staff in there had never heard a British accent so we knew we were of the beaten track!!

My mum and dad went there for 35 years, three times a year; same hotel, same room, same lovely people. I think they liked it!

Agios Nikolaos.

Elounda is very nice, too.
