| USA UK Relations 22:33 - Oct 4 with 2349 views | Luther27 | After the USA withdraws its bombers from Fairford base on the grounds of security. Why would they do that do you think? Perhaps releasing antagonists and Pro Palestine sympathisers on bail may have something to do with it along with the direction this country is heading.

| USA UK Relations on 14:46 - Oct 5 by ncswan | Wow!! I can only shake my head at your deluded post! You should thank your lucky STARS (and STRIPES) that you weren't required to speak German, Russian, Farsi, or Mandarin. But then again, maybe you wouldn't mind the latter two or three at all! |
Farsi? Maybe the USa should count it's lucky stars that Britain held out long enough because if we'd fallen whilst waiting for the USA to join then there never would have been D Day. Maybe the USa should thank the French because without them the Royal family would have a palace in Washington. See, we can do this nonsense all day. The blunt truth is Trump cannot be trusted. All of us are paying higher prices because of his action in Iran, a war he doesn't know how to get out of, we are ALL paying the price. How much is fuel in your neck of the woods these days?

Hitler didn't need to invade us, if the USA had stayed right out of it we'd have been taken by a death of a thousand cuts. Without supplies from the USA we would have faded away. Then the Nazi would have their chance. We ALL won the war, together, The Allies and Russia. Hitlers biggest mistake was Barbarossa and the Japanese, attacking pearl is up there too as a cock up..

| USA UK Relations on 17:54 - Oct 5 by trampie | According to all knowing AI , Britain would likely not have been conquered during ww2 even if the USA had stayed out of the war. Navy would have sunk German transport ships, Airforce would have and did match their Airforce and the Army would have stopped them getting off the beaches if they had even got that far, they knew the odds were not in their favour although they clearly thought about it, once they failed to win the battle of Britain in the air they gave up on the idea of attempting a land invasion of Blighty. |
All ifs and buts I’m afraid , if which I think you are is the period of spring/summer 1940 then why didn’t you mention the fact that in May over 300k troops had to be rescued from France leaving vast quantities of equipment including personal and heavy weapons and if Goering hadn’t messed up by attacking London instead of continuing hitting the RAF on the ground making airfields temporarily unusable then without RAF air cover it’s quite possible that an invasion would have taken place and with the lack of equipment available to the British army ( don’t forget the Germans also had use of airborne troops) then it’s quite possible they could have landed but they didn’t because of poor decision making and the bravery of the RAF + radar. | USA UK Relations on 22:45 - Oct 4 by ReslovenSwan1 | I was shocked at the previous event At RAF Brize Norton. The UK answer to crimes is not prevention but tough sentencing and action after the event. This is wholly inadequate when dealing with £50m Jets and fuels store in a time of million to set action against Russia. It smacked of complacency. No news of severe warnings to the camp chiefs to tighten thing up and assurances of action. I have no idea what was going on a Fairford. It has the feel of a false flag scam gone wrong. Not prevention you say, maybe you should research how many terror attacks the UK has prevented in the last year...the last 10 years? Now these harsh sentences, where are they exactly? We let people off with a smacked wrist, naughty boy (or girl) don't do it again, because our prisons are full and we are releasing criminals early before we can lock some more up. Then a large number of them re-offend.

The ifs and buts are more on yourside than mine, there is a big difference to being on foreign soil where you have the logistics of getting food and arms to your army overseas compared to being at home.

Russia's enemy was our enemy, don't forget the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was signed in August 1939. Russia only became our ally because Hitker invaded them. The Russians suffered mightily but they took their revenge and the Stalin's true colours emerged too. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We were also helped by the fact we still had an extraordinary manufacturing/production output in those days and could replace damaged planes/equipment at over three times the speed of the Germans. I’ve often said if war came to us again these days we’d be a sitting duck since we import nearly everything we desperately need and aren’t self sufficient in anything. A service based economy is never winning any wars.

Everything I 've posted is factual yours ? "If the Yanks had continued to stay out of ww2 we wouldn't have lost to the Germans as they would not have been able to invade us, the Germans would have ruled Western Europe but not Blighty, so we would never have ended up speaking German." Oh no, there's lots of ifs and buts in your post. As already said, the Germans made many mistakes like bombing cities instead of airfields. If you change something in this scenario then there are many possible outcomes. For example, Britain falls to Germany then no US troops in Europe, the possibility that commonwealth forces surrender, Germany and Japan turn on Russia and in the meantime, with little resistance (because Britain isn't supplying them) the Germans develop nuclear weapons and the fat lady sings.

It's better to pay a slightly higher price for a short period of time rather than have Iran/IRGC hold the Western Europe, Israel and the rest of the Arab states hostage due to having a nuclear bomb pointing in our directions. You think petroleum is high now, then imagine what it would be if the terrorist IRGC had been successful in their attempt to deceive the world that they weren't close to having a bomb. This Iranian conflict is near the end if the US & Israel can keep out the other bad actors (Russian, N. Korea, and China) from "helping" the IRGC. The IRGC has run out of money, bankrupted their country due to the US economic embargo, and are close to being toppled, hopefully by their own citizenry/good Iranians. Right now, gasoline here in North Carolina where I live is just under $4.00/gal. Tomorrow it will be 41 cents cheaper ($3.59/gal) due to a suspension of the state's gas 41 cent gas tax. A lot of states are suspending their state's gas taxes. Trump signed an Executive Order to ease restrictions on the use of red-dyed diesel fuel, which is exempt from federal taxes. Red-dyed diesel is used by farmers and off-road Heavy Equipment (construction vehicles). This EO will allow transportation carriers for agriculture crops to use it.

Meanwhile our PM says there's nothing he can do despite 86p tax on a litre of diesel!

I went on holiday to Pinehurst just before it held its first US Open (I think it was its first can't be arsed to check) to play some of the courses there, I'm crap at golf mind you, one place at the time they had llamas as caddies.
