It strikes me the bench is weak but we need to rotate players to keep them fresh and injury free. Hopefully in Jan we can clear out some of those not up to snuff and bring in competition for the first team that will add to the team when they come off the bench rather than dilute it. (A bit like the England rugby union team bringing on some of their stronger forwards with 30 mins to go to overwhelm a tiring team and out muscle the second tier opposition bench players brought on to counter them). | | | |

That ended up far too close for comfort. West Brom looked a different team after the break, that said we gave them a helping hand defensively. It seems that once we start making subs and the likes of Scienza and AA depart we rapidly go from setting the opposition problems to solve to having to solve the problems they are now setting us. Despite the squad size I don't think we have the quality in depth so seem to suffer in the last third of games.
All said and done, another 3 points and after a very brief flirtation with a play off place for a few minutes around half time we are up to 8th overnight and the Skates are still in the bottom 3. |  | | |

We look good when going forward, but we look really dodgy at the back.

He knows what he's doing. He's managing the team to a series of wins and his ultimate goal is to get us promoted, wheher we win games 4-3 or 6-0. He subs key players as early as he feels he can get away with it, with the next game in mind. With his style of play, we are far more likely to win 3-2 than 1-0. Yes, it makes fans feel nervous sometimes, but in the end it will be worth it.

Another win, I couldn't be happier BUT.
How come we keep reverting to Russball? I know Bazunu likes playing with his feet, but that was getting ridiculous. In the first half we started to knock it round the back too much, but the 2nd half was nearly all tippy-tappy in our own penalty area. I understand that there are periods in the game when you have to slow it down and keep the ball, but for us it nearly always ends in tears.
Keep attacking and manage the game out in the last 15 minutes.
