Record against top sides is poor but the wins we’ve had away from home have put us 10 points clear of the chasing pack at the bottom because they’ve dropped so many against us . Better to be the winning those six pointers?
Once again Marti has to shuffle the pack with Saito and Smyth both out .
No wonder he’s had a tough season.

After reading the preview, got me thinking have we actually had an unchanged side for 2 matches running this season? 🤔

I can't remember us doing that.

Thank you Clive - Brilliant article to kick off this Bank Holiday Monday - "suddenly at Preston on Good Friday he’s Mark Dennis after a bit of a swim in a vat of Tan In A Can" spat my morning tea out with that one.

So true to sometimes just live in the moment and seeing that away end on Friday made me very happy for everyone who travelled. There is definitely something about playing on Friday's that suits us that's for sure.

Loads to cover and debate in the Summer but for now let's all head to W12 with no stress to see if the boys can continue the upturn and get above last seasons 56 points. Incredible really to where we were in November.

Come on you R'rrs.

People emphasise Swansea's 4 wins in a row, with4 clean sheets. However, they've beaten Derby, Plymouth and Hull, at home. That takes some of the gloss off those results. The win at Sunderland, preceded by a draw at Leeds is far more impressive.

If we're up for revenge of the Boxing Day hiding, I think we can win. Let us see. Isn't it nice to not being in a panic?

Think we will miss the energy of Smyth and Saito and can Colback repeat his performance from Friday? Although, with pressure off for both sides, I'm guessing a draw

We have been 'proper' unlucky with key injuries this season and now another two important players out, proper choker that because both players are very busy when they play and are important to us. Given that we had a bit more luck in the availability area we would be chasing the top 6, we have a very decent set of starting players and have coped well without key players. And don't forget how well MC and his Team have done - he wants 3 points against Swansea and play well and we will get the points - they, like many of the Teams we have seen are average and we have better players.

We need players like Paal, Colback, Dunne, Varane, Morrison, Edwards (all very decent boys) to lead the Team to victory and Frey, Kolli, Dembele to take the chances in front of goal.

I can't make sense of the injuries this season.

Some, like Saito on Friday, are obviously freak outcomes to fairly mundane events: he'll have been muscled off the ball and hit the deck a dozen times without injury this term. Same for Sam Field - he got caught with a challenge he's dealt with all year but, this time, it took him out of the game. No-one is talking about 'overloading' or burn out: these are in-game knocks.

The ones that confuse me are the ones like Steve Cook Michi Frey or Ilias Chair. In, out, in, out, the full okey cokey. That just didn't seem to happen last season. Same players, same levels of pressure, same roles in the team. The only explanation that makes any real sense to people outside the organisation is that the Head of Performance (sounds like a choreographer in a Busby Berkley movie) doesn't have a literal finger on the pulse. I have a solution, however:

Ladies, Gentlemen, dogs in people suits, may I present the Fing-Longer. Now, if we can just extend it a bit...

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Thanks Clive for putting together an impressive preview after a very busy weekend for you.

I think we will miss the defensive workrate of Smyth & Saito today. If we start with Dembele, Yang & Madsen (and/or Andersen) we could be very open. Hope I'm wrong, but suspect Morrison's impressive starting stats could finally take a knock with a 2-1 defeat.
